What to do when you’re not Okay…

I n my last blog post i wrote a post titled: ‘Is it okay not to be okay?. In the post, I concluded that it is absolutely okay not to be okay, however, it’s not okay to do nothing about it. Today we will be talking about what to do when our answer to to the question: ‘Are you okay?’ is   no, I am not okay . I remember a story in the Bible about the man of God called Prophet Elijah which is documented in the first book of Kings chapter 19 from verse 1. Prophet Elijah had just performed one of his most famous miracles by defeating the prophets of Baal. One would think that should have set him up for so much euphoria but soon after the supernatural demonstration of God’s power, his life was put on a literal hit list by Queen Jezebel. Elijah then had to run for his life for days and soon felt dejected to the point where he felt suicidal. “It is enough! Now, Lord , take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!” I Kings 19:4 NKJV Elijah really felt so defeated that even death fe...

Is it Really Ok Not to be Okay?

Often when people ask me the question: “How are you?” or “How have you been?”, my default response is: “I am okay” or “I have been okay.” This response, I admit has not been the most honest or truthful response in recent times due to the craziness that is the year 2020. I think if we are truthful to ourselves and actually take a long deep look in the mirror, we might notice that we haven’t been okay or maybe we haven’t been doing as alright as we all portray ourselves to be doing on our perfectly curated social media timelines. However… There is a question that I want you to ask yourself today: “Is it really okay not to be okay?” Is it really okay that we are dealing with crazy amount of stress on a daily basis? Is it okay that we are one of the most sleep deprived generations in the history of ...

Rest in God's Grace

Lamentations 3:22-23 - Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. _______________________________________________ I really hope you take time to read this because I felt it so strong in my heart to share! The scripture above really resonated with me earlier because I have come to realize, I need to extend grace to myself sometimes. I don’t give myself room to mess up, make mistakes, or simply be human. This overwhelming need to be perfect stems from my fear of being a disappointment to someone. Why? Well, the deeper I dug the more God revealed the fears I have of abandonment. This huge insecurity bleeds over into all my relationships; it effects my marriage, my friendships, and relations with family. It’s crippling because the moment I feel I disappointed someone, I believe they will leave me. Or it will only take just so many other unflattering moments of mine to send them out the ...

God Truly Loves You.

Hi, Rodgers here this being my first post here, i just wanted to share this incredibly beautifully scripture to let you all know how much God truly loves you. He is near. He is available to you. He knows every stitch of detail of what makes you, you + doesn’t love you an ounce less. Psalms 139:1-4 - Lord, You know everything there is to know about me. You perceive every moment of my heart and soul and You understand my every thought before it even enters my mind. You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence. You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.
